For laptop-free DJing, the standalone units lead the way: the Pioneer XDJ RX3 and four-channel XDJ XZ bring the club layout home, the lighter Pioneer XDJ RR is the compact two channel option, and the OPUS QUAD sits at the premium end. For software setups, the DDJ 1000 (rekordbox) and DDJ FLX6 are the go-to four-channel picks, while beginners do well on the DDJ FLX 4. Turntablists should look at the motorised RANE ONE.

Is it safe to buy a used DJ controller?
