About the controller
The Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3 is Native Instruments’ flagship four-channel DJ controller, combining a club-style mixer layout with cutting-edge digital features and seamless Traktor Pro 4 integration. It delivers high-definition sound through a built-in 24-bit/96 kHz audio interface and provides external inputs on every channel—two phono/line inputs for turntables, two line/CD inputs, two microphone inputs (XLR + ¼"), plus booth and master outputs, including both XLR and RCA.
The Traktor Kontrol S4 standout feature is a pair of motorized jog wheels outfitted with Haptic Drive: they give tactile, force-feedback responses in turntable, jog, or beatgrid modes, keeping you connected to your music. Each jog wheel is encircled by an RGB ring and topped with a high-resolution display showing waveform, BPM, track time, key, stems, remix deck components, and mixer information.
The mixer section includes Carbon-Protect faders designed to resist dust and liquids, a 3-band EQ, filter and channel FX knobs, plus dedicated Mixer FX—eight selectable club effects and three filter types assignable per channel. You also get 16 RGB performance pads, a powerful step-sequencer for remix decks, smart visual feedback, and adjustable crossfader curves. Many DJs praise its build quality, intuitive layout, and the immersive experience of the jog wheels—though some note the motorized jogs can feel overly sensitive for certain mixing styles.
