About the speaker

The VM-50 is Pioneer DJ’s own take on the monitor speaker, designed by the same company that builds the CDJs and DJMs it will usually sit next to. It is tuned with DJs in mind: enough punch to make mixing feel right, with the accuracy to double as a production monitor.

The 5.25 inch woofer sits in a rigid cabinet with an aluminium front baffle, and the Vortex Bass Accelerator port design keeps the low end tight rather than boomy, which matters at DJ listening levels in a normal sized room. Class D amplification gives it clean headroom without running hot.

The practical standout is the rear-panel DSP EQ: separate low and high dials with 16 positions each, so you can quickly compensate for a speaker that has to live in a corner, on a shelf or hard against a wall. Balanced XLR and TRS inputs connect straight to a DJM booth output or an audio interface.

As a compact booth monitor for a home DJ setup, or a desktop speaker that matches the rest of your Pioneer gear, the VM-50 is an easy recommendation.
