About the mixer
The DJM 2000 Nexus is Pioneer’s flagship professional DJ mixer, designed to integrate seamlessly with CDJ setups and Rekordbox software. It offers four channels, a built-in touchscreen, and a wide range of performance features aimed at club DJs and advanced users.
One of the standout features is its 5.8-inch multi-touch display, which unlocks features like Beat Slice, Frequency Mix, and Sidechain Remix. These allow DJs to manipulate tracks creatively in real time, such as isolating frequencies for smoother mixing or slicing beats for live remixing. The screen is responsive and laid out like a performance tool rather than just a display.
The mixer supports Pro DJ Link, allowing up to four Pioneer CDJs and two laptops to be networked together for synchronized beat grids, track sharing, and advanced effects. This makes it a central hub in more complex setups, particularly in club environments.
Sound-wise, the DJM 2000 Nexus includes a high-grade 32-bit digital signal processor and low-jitter clocking, which means audio stays clear and accurate even at high volumes. A peak limiter is also built-in to prevent unwanted distortion when pushing levels hard in a live setting.
Each channel offers both a 3-band EQ and a 3-band isolator mode. You also get extensive onboard effects, including beat-synced echo, delay, roll, and filter, along with intuitive Instant FX like noise, jet, and crush. The mixer’s layout makes it easy to engage these without losing track of your main mix.
Connectivity is comprehensive. The DJM 2000 Nexus includes a built-in 4-in/4-out USB audio interface, digital inputs, MIDI support, two microphone inputs, booth and master outputs with professional-grade DACs, and assignable crossfader curves.
Overall, the DJM 2000 Nexus is a powerhouse mixer for serious DJs who want total control and deep creative tools in a single unit. It's a large, heavy piece of gear — but that's because it’s designed for professional rigs, not portability. Its depth of features means there's a learning curve, but for those who take the time, the DJM 2000 Nexus is an incredibly rewarding mixer to use.
