About the controller
The Pioneer DJM 700 is a 4-channel digital DJ mixer positioned as a mid-range offering between starter and flagship models. It inherits sonic elements from Pioneer’s higher-end units but adds several creative features that set it apart.
The DJM 700 uses a 96 kHz/24-bit digital sampling system paired with a 32-bit DSP, enabling clean audio processing and robust effects. The mixer includes a unique Effect Frequency Filter that lets you choose which frequency bands are affected by effects—meaning you can apply FX only to highs, mids, lows, or combinations. There's also a manual filter (high-/low-pass) allowing you to morph tracks and FX in real time.
On the FX side, the DJM 700 offers 13 beat effects (such as delay, echo, flanger, phaser, reverb, crush, robot), plus an advanced roll sampler with options for normal roll, reverse roll, pitch-up roll, and pitch-down roll. All effects are tempo-synced automatically via BPM detection.
It’s also built to be flexible: 49 controls are assignable via MIDI, giving the mixer control over external software or gear. You get eight line/RCA inputs and three phono inputs, plus a send/return loop for external effects gear, dual mic inputs, a digital output, and multiple master, booth, and record outputs.
With its standard layout, adjustable fader curves, top-quality build, and DJ-friendly features, the DJM 700 strikes a balance between creativity and usability—ideal for DJs who want more than basic mixing but don’t need (or can’t afford) flagship gear.
