Pioneer CDJ 2000: Original, Nexus and NXS2
6 productsUsed and refurbished DJ equipment. Every pre-owned unit is deep cleaned inside and out, serviced, bench-tested and graded Premium to Fair in our Battersea workshop before it is listed.

The CDJ 2000 family, all three generations
Three players share the CDJ 2000 name and they are not the same deck. The original CDJ 2000 from 2009 brought the full-size jog and rekordbox USB playback that every player since has copied. The CDJ 2000 Nexus added beat sync over Pro DJ Link, quantised hot cues and a better screen. The CDJ 2000 Nexus 2 (NXS2) added a 7in colour touchscreen, 8 hot cues, FLAC support and a 96kHz sound card, and it is still the player most UK clubs run today.
We keep all three in stock as singles and as matched pairs. Each one is serviced and bench-tested in our Battersea workshop, with the jogs, buttons, screen and Link port checked before it is graded and listed. Every generation reads the same rekordbox USB, so a Nexus at home will prepare you for an NXS2 in the booth.
Choosing between them
CDJ 2000 vs Nexus vs NXS2: what is the real difference?
Sync and Link features. The original has no beat sync and a basic screen. The Nexus adds sync and quantise over Link with other Nexus players. The Nexus 2 (NXS2) adds the colour touchscreen, 8 hot cues and FLAC. If you only play from USB and do not need sync, the original is the value pick.
Which CDJ 2000 should I buy?
For home practice on a budget, the original CDJ 2000 does the job. If you want sync without paying Nexus 2 money, the Nexus is the middle ground. If you are preparing for club gigs, go Nexus 2: it is what you will find in most UK booths.
Is a used CDJ 2000 Nexus 2 (NXS2) still worth buying?
Yes. It remains the standard deck in most clubs and festivals, so learning on one means no surprises when you play out. Pioneer stopped making it, which is why serviced used units are the sensible way to own a pair.
Can I mix a CDJ 2000 Nexus with a Nexus 2?
Yes. Both link over Pro DJ Link and share rekordbox libraries, so a Nexus and an NXS2 work as a pair. The original CDJ 2000 links too but without beat sync.
Do you sell matched pairs?
Yes. Pair listings are two units of the same model and grade. Both decks carry the same warranty, 6 months on Premium and 3 months on other grades.
