About the controller

The Pioneer XDJ RR is an all-in-one DJ system that offers a professional club-style layout in a more compact, affordable package. Designed for DJs who want the familiarity of CDJs and a DJM-style mixer without needing a laptop, the XDJ RR strikes a balance between portability and functionality. It features two USB-driven decks and a 2-channel mixer, running entirely off rekordbox, which means you can plug in your USB stick and perform directly—no laptop needed.

The XDJ RR has a dual 7-inch color screens give you waveform displays, track info, and browsing controls that mimic the CDJ-2000NXS2, helping prepare bedroom DJs for club setups. The jog wheels are capacitive and responsive, with decent heft and feel, making it ideal for mixing and scratching. While they’re not full-size CDJ jogs, they’re larger than those on entry-level controllers and feel more professional.

Each deck has 4 performance pads (instead of 8 like on the XDJ-RX2), but they still offer hot cue, beat loop, slip loop, and beat jump modes. You get essential FX via the Sound Color FX and Beat FX sections, including high-pass/low-pass filters, echo, reverb, and more—all lifted from Pioneer’s pro-level gear. It also has a built-in mic input, aux in, booth and master outs (XLR and RCA), and two USB ports: one for playback, one for recording or back-to-back sets.
