About the controller

The Pioneer DDJ SX2 is a professional 4-channel performance controller designed primarily for Serato DJ Pro, with extra flexibility and creative tools built in. It unlocks Serato DJ Pro right out of the box, which means you don’t need additional licenses to use its full feature set. You’ll find eight velocity-sensitive, multi-colour performance pads on each deck, giving precise control over hot cues, loops, rolls, slicers, and sampler functions. The jog wheels are durable aluminium, centre illuminated, and improved for lower latency—making scratching and cueing feel responsive and accurate.

The Pioneer DDJ SX2 retains the layout of its predecessor but adds key enhancements: dedicated Serato Flip buttons (Record, Start, Slot) for sequencing hot cue patterns on the fly, enhanced mic circuitry with cleaner amplification, and fully assignable knobs and buttons for MIDI mapping. The mixer section is fully featured, with four external inputs (CD x2 RCA, Line/Phono x2 RCA), two mic inputs (XLR + ¼″ combo on one, ¼″ on the other), full 3-band EQ per channel, send/return loops, and fader start support on channels 2 and 3. Output-wise, the DDJ SX2 offers both XLR and RCA master outputs, plus a booth output and dual headphone monitor outputs (¼″ and ⅛″) for flexible monitoring.

In terms of sound quality, the DDJ SX2 delivers clean audio with < 0.003% distortion over USB and a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Its signal-to-noise ratio is rated at 107 dB (PC). The controller also features slip mode, needle search, crossfader curve adjustment, and Sound Colour filters on each channel. Though the DDJ SX2 is USB-powered and works tightly with software, it can also act as a standalone mixer when external sources are plugged in. Dimensions are around 664 × 353.4 × 70.4 mm, and it weighs about 5.8 kg in total.
