About the controller
The Pioneer DDJ XP1 is a compact add-on performance controller designed specifically for rekordbox DJ and rekordbox DVS. It doesn’t replace your mixer or decks — instead, it enhances your setup by giving you tactile control over performance features. At its heart are 32 RGB backlit performance pads, split into two banks of 16, which can be used for functions such as Hot Cues, Beat Jump, Loop Roll, Sampler, and Pad FX.
Above the pads you’ll find Slide FX strips on each deck. These let you dynamically control effects by swiping up or down — no switching between FX modes. The layout is intuitive: the top section handles key and beat sync information, while the bottom area triggers the pad functions.
The DDJ XP1 also unlocks advanced performance features in Rekordbox, including Key Shift and Keyboard mode, which allow you to play hot cues in different semitones — great for live remixing and creative play. It supports Silent Cue, meaning when used with DVS, the track doesn’t speed up when the turntable starts — playback resumes at the correct BPM when you hit play.
The DDJ XP1 comes bundled with license keys for Rekordbox DJ and Rekordbox DVS, so you can start using it right away without buying extra software. The unit is USB bus powered (5 V), lightweight (about 1.5 kg), and compact (333 × 237 × 44 mm), making it easy to add to your setup without taking up much space.
While the DDJ XP1 has no jog wheels or mixer section, it’s a powerful creative tool for DJs wanting to expand their performance capabilities — especially for scratch, remix, or pad-driven styles.
